Omah Cipta Indonesia is an independent institute focused on research and on accompanying community development and empowerment programmes. It was established in 2014 and is based in Sleman, Yogyakarta.
Research and data sit at the centre of how we work. Before designing an intervention we map the real conditions of a community across the basic needs of daily life: economy, education, health, infrastructure, environment and social life. That evidence decides which actions are appropriate, rather than which activities look good in a report.
Our perspective
Companies and development agencies rarely lack budget. What is often missing is proof that the budget changed something. So we work on both sides at once: accompanying residents so the programme runs, and building measurement so the result can be accounted for.
